Metro Vancouver's
Regional Prosperity Initiative

A growing group of important stakeholders in the Metro Vancouver region is committed to improving and expanding the prosperity of the Metro Vancouver region through the creation of a collaborative initiative bringing together businesses, local governments, academia, professional associations and civic organizations.

The Initiative Moving Forward

The following shows our short term plan for creating a public-private collaborative prosperity organization in Metro Vancouver – what’s been accomplished so far and what’s still to come.

2014 & 2015

Initial discussions

Two distinct but separate bodies were formed out of a recognition that the Metro Vancouver region lacks an effective mechanism to coordinate efforts to promote the region and attract the investment and talent we need to succeed in today’s complex global economy, while simultaneously preserving the social, cultural and environmental integrity of where we live. The first was Metro Vancouver’s Regional Economy Task Force, a body comprising five Metro Vancouver Board Directors / municipal Mayors. The second was what became known as the Ad Hoc Committee – a group of forward-thinking leaders, representing some of the most influential organizations in the region.
